How you can speak in Tongues
So lets start with who is the holy spirit because the gift of
Tongues most generally comes when you receive the Holy Spirit

Here is a good definition:
the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost is the third person of the Trinity: the Triune God manifested as God the Father, God the Son, and Holy Spirit; each person itself being God.
Another way to put it is The Holy Spirit is a real person who came to reside within Jesus Christ's true followers after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven.
Jesus told his followers before he was crucified and raised from the dead that he was going to send the holy spirit to help them. john 14: 15-17
in the book of acts after he rose from the dead he told his followers to wait in Jerusalem and he was going to send the holy spirit baptism to them Acts 1:8
After jesus went back to heaven and the disciples were waiting in Jersulaem the holy spirit came. Acts 2:4
listen to what the bible says about it:
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2: 1-4
So those first early disciples, followers of Jesus Christ who had been with Jesus were now filled with the holy spirit and spoke in other tongues and here today 2000 years later it works the same way
For most it is the defining moment that their lives take a big change.
Here are some of the benefits of being baptized in the holy spirit
You will receive power to be a more effective witness for Christ Acts 14-5 8
The Holy Spirit has a divine power that defies the five senses. When He baptizes you, his power enters in to you and you are actually filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:3 tells us of the Holy Spirit’s power entering the 120 on the day of Pentecost.
You will start speaking in heavenly languages to god called tongues
Acts 19:6 Mark 16: 17 1 Corinthians 14:2 and many more scriptures
Some of you may receive an actual inner manifestation from the Lord when first receiving this gift. Some will actually feel the presence of the Holy Spirit on the inside of them. He will actually manifest His presence on the inside of your emotions when He first comes up.
when you receive this gift, the Holy Spirit will be able to draw you that much closer to God and Jesus since He is now living where you really reside at – your soul, (mind, will, and emotions).
You will have a Hunger for the Word of God, Matthew 5:6 Matthew 4:4
Not only will the Holy Spirit give you a major desire and hunger for the Word of God, but He will also help you understand what you reading from the Bible so you can start to get some of these incredible truths worked into your personal life. The Bible will come alive 2 Timothy 2:7 Proverbs 28:5
With you now being Spirit-filled up into your soul area – you will now be in a better position to receive God’s anointing on your life. 1 John 2:27
2nd Corinthians 1: 21-22
The anointing is the power of the Holy Spirit operating through you to accomplish whatever God wants you to do for Him. It will be God’s supernatural power flowing through you, not your power. Your powers are limited, but God’s power are not!
The Holy Spirit will also help you in your own personal prayer life with the Lord. You will learn how to “pray in the Spirit,” Jude 1:20 1 Corinthians 14:15 Ephesians 6:18 that is tongues your heavenly language which means that both you and Him will be praying to God the Father on the same request at the same time.
This will build you up energize you charge you up make you feel stronger and more empowered to do the things you need and want to do and ghat god wants you to do
The Holy Spirit Will Start To Teach You Things
The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit will “teach us all things and guide us into all truth.” The Holy Spirit has been set up by God the Father to be our Teacher and Guide in this life. He will help teach and guide you through every area of your life if you are open to receiving this kind of direct help from Him. John 14:26
the Bible also tells us that there are 9 gifts of the Spirit. The 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit are the word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, prophecy, the gift of tongues, the interpretation of tongues, the discerning of spirits, the working of miracles, the gifts of healing, and the gift of faith. 1 Corinthians 12
Any one of these 9 gifts will now be able to be manifested through you at any time to be able to help either yourself or someone else.
You will have a much better chance of getting some of these nine gifts to manifest through you after you have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit than you did before you had received this gift. 1 Corinthians 12
And there is much much more, way to much more than I can put in this short lessons
So how do you get this mighty baptism of the spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues
Well sometimes this happens at the moment you confess faith in Christ, as in the case of the first Gentile convert, Cornelius Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:15-16 but often it occurs some time after the salvation experience Acts 8:12-17
If you have not yet been baptized in the holy spirit here is how
You only have to do two things.
First, once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior you just have to ask God to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Ask, and it shall be given to you" Luke 11:9. You got saved by faith you can be baptized in the holy spirit by faith.
Second, believe you have in fact received this gift from God. The apostle Paul, writing to the Galatians, said, "Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?" Galatians 3:2. The answer, obviously, is faith. You have to believe that if you ask, you will receive.
Pray this prayer OUT LOUDif you sincerely desire to receive the baptism in God's Holy Spirit:
"Heavenly Father, at this moment I come to You. I thank You that Jesus saved me.
I pray that the Holy Spirit might come upon me.
Lord Jesus, baptize me now in the Holy Spirit.
I receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit right now by faith in Your Word.
May the anointing, the glory, and the power of God come upon me and into my life right now.
May I be empowered for service from this day forward.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for baptizing me in Your Holy Spirit. Amen."
Now, having asked and received, begin to practice the power of the Spirit. An ideal place to begin is where the first apostles did, praising God in a new language. To do this, begin praising God out loud in whatever words come to you. Tell Him how much you love Him. Thank Him, worship Him, and yield your voice to Him.
Now let Him give you new words of praise you never heard before. Praise Him with those words, too. You'll find that this can be a very rewarding experience of communication with God that will build up your faith. Continue to pray to God each day in the language that the Holy Spirit has given you.
Then read the scriptlures in book of acts and Corinthians that talk about tongues . this will help strengthen you faith in this area about this great gift from God
